Chinese Muslims Expelled from Mecca

After the riots that took place in Mecca, the holy city of Islam, sixteen rioters were driven out of Saudi Arabia. The rioters were workers from China, who converted to Islam in order to work on a mega project.

They complain about low wages and poor working conditions, some Arab media reports. Chinese citizens work on the construction of the railroad between the port city of Jeddah to Mecca.

This connection is mainly aimed at pilgrims. Like hundreds of other workers, they have converted en masse to Islam in the last year. Only Muslims are allowed to enter the holy cities of Mecca and Medina. (Radio Netherlands)
