British Muslim Students Form Charitable Community

DDHK News, UK - A number of students from some of the UK's top universities are joining the charity community at Saint Mary's University. This is in line with the increasing number of poor people and the expansion of the crisis area.

"The charity field is devoted to serving others and I believe people in that community will help each other," the head of the Finsbury Park Mosque, Mohammed Kozbar who attended the charity event in Saint Mary, told The Guardian, Tuesday (11/3), as quoted republica.co.id.

The Finsbury Park Mosque is the center of legal charity serving Muslims in Islington. This is done while promoting the charitable community and strengthening religious harmony.

"We must work together to solve common problems such as discrimination, poverty and violence against women," said Kozbar.

Kozbar is an alumnus of the University of Saint Mary who has joined his alma mater's charity community to serve the community.

Westminster University Development Department Head Dr Ola Sholarin said this kind of charity had resurfaced after the economic crisis. Especially after a political crisis like the one that hit Syria and took the world's spotlight.

"The global economic crisis has had a major impact on triggering charity activities. Professionals in that field must be ready to deal with it, "said Sholarin.

Therefore, the decision to do charity is related to moral decisions. "Many of those joining the program are from the private sector," said Director of the University of Saint Mary's Charity Management Program, Twickenham, Dr Geoff Paul.

Paul said the economy had a bad reputation in stark contrast to the charity sector which had been welcomed in recent years. The community also cares more about helping each other.

Britain is home to an estimated 2,7 million Muslims. Islamic Shari'ah, an institution for collecting and managing zakat, uses zakat funds to help the poor in England.

Last July 2013, a survey conducted by a charity site Just Giving reportThe largest number of charities come from Muslims of any other faith in the UK. (rol / ddhongkong.org). *
