This Practice Can Ease Sakratul Death

EVERYONE who is born will die. A man born from his mother's womb will surely die. Likewise, women who give birth and are born will surely die. Only when and where is it a secret with Allah SWT. Dare to live in the world, you must be ready to die, because life is a journey to death.

For a believer, death is the beginning he will meet the One who is worshiped while in the world with the pleasure and reward of obeying the commands and prohibitions. Whereas for those who deny Allah, death is the beginning of punishment for the oneness of Allah which they reject in the world, and they will regret their denial.

There is a practice that can relieve the believer when his death comes to pick him up, namely charity. Giving charity is spending part of the wealth in the way of Allah, either by giving to fellow humans or social institutions for good. There is no minimum size limit.

In QS. Al-Munafiqun verse 10, Allah commands us, believers, to partially invest in our sustenance before death comes. The donations and / or alms that we spend can be in the form of money, food and drink, clothing, and even a place to live for other people in need.

How sorry we are, with the wealth that is stored and not donated until death comes. The assets that are not donated are not necessarily our assets, because they will belong to our heirs. On the contrary, what we donate is our true treasure.

Giving charity is a characteristic of the practice of righteous people who are loved by Allah and the Prophet. Until a person who is in a state of sakaratul maut asks Allah, his death will be ended for a moment just so that he can give charity.

According to Ibn Qayyim, that almsgiving can relieve painful death. If people can fall into destruction because of their wealth, then someone can be saved with their wealth. Destruction is caused by property because it neglects its owner from remembering Allah. This is what happens to most humans so that it causes people to lose money (QS. Al-Munafiqun: 9).

Let our assets be used in practice such as alms or infaq that can save us both in this world and in the hereafter. So, it can be accounted for before Allah: where do we get it and where do we spend the treasure. this is also a manifestation of the characteristics of pious people (Surah Ali Imran: 134).
