Procedures for Sa'i in Hajj and Umrah

Sa'i is one of the pillars of Hajj and Umrah where the pilgrims walk from the hill of Shafa to the hill of Marwah, and vice versa. As many as 7 times the congregation started the journey from the hill of Safa and ended on the hill of Marwah.

The conditions for carrying out sa'i:
1. Preceded by tawaf worship
2. Complete the count up to seven times.
3. Performed at the sa'i place.
4. It must be carried out in an orderly manner.

Sa'i implementation time

The time to perform sa'i is after carrying out the tawaf ifadah or tawaf umrah. For those who carry out the ifrad pilgrimage or qiran pilgrimage, after the qudum tawaf may perform sa'i, so when performing the ifadah tawaf there is no need to perform sa'i again.

Procedure for performing sa'i:
1. Walk towards Shafa hill.
2. Upon arrival at the Shafa hill, the congregation faces towards the Kaaba while reciting takbir and tahlil.
3. Walk to the hill of Marwah with remembrance and prayer, carried out every trip.
4. In the mas'a (place of sa'i) there are two green pillars. When you get there it is recommended for men to jog, while for women it is required to speed up.
5. When approaching the hill of Marwah, read a prayer as contained in QS Al Baqarah verse 158.
6. When you arrive at the Marwah hill, face towards the Kaaba then recite the takbir and tahlil as was done on the Shafa hill.
7. The sunnah is in a state of purity during the sai service.

May it be easy for us to carry out the sa'i worship as part of the series of Hajj and Umrah pilgrimages.
