Ustadz, I want to ask a question.
How is it legal to work in a bank? Because in the next 2 days, my daughter will receive a test call to work at one of the state-owned conventional banks. Explanation please.

Peace be upon you and God's mercy and blessings be upon you
The scholars agree on the prohibition of usury, as stated in the verse:
لَّ اللَّهُ الْبَيْعَ الرِّبَا
"Even though Allah has permitted buying and selling and forbids usury." (Surat al-Baqarah [2]: 275).
However, many of these scholars differ in the meaning of usury. Some scholars absolutely forbid all contracts in the bank, some argue that not all contracts are haram. Why? because there are indeed halal contracts in terms of transactions, such as money exchange, brokerage, safekeeping, and so on.
Therefore, if a Muslim works in a conventional bank, then he should choose to be in a section that is not directly related to transactions that are haram.
If he cannot avoid it, so that it persists and cannot move from its position, then let his heart remain in denial and keep trying.
"Indeed, everyone gets what he intended." (HR Bukhari)
In addition, the fuqaha also introduced us to the term emergency. It is this condition that requires accepting the job as a means of earning a living and sustenance, as the word of Allah SWT:
"But whoever is forced (to eat) while he does not want it and does not (also) transgress, then there is no sin for him. Verily Allah is Forgiving, Most Merciful.” (Surat al-Baqarah: 173)
This argument provides an emergency condition to allow someone to eat the forbidden property. And the emergency must be adjusted to the level.
But if you can get a better and lawful job, please move from that place.
