DDHK News, Indonesia - A total of 24 elementary school (SD) teachers throughout Makassar have participated in the School of Master Teacher (SoMTe) training held by the Indonesian Teachers' School (SGI) Dompet Dhuafa and Dompet Dhuafa South Sulawesi on Sunday (25/1) at the STIE LAN hall, Makassar.
SoMTe is an educational program that aims to produce transformative teachers with qualified capacities as model educators, teachers, and leaders. It is hoped that these teachers will produce new innovations and creativity in the field of learning development, especially at the primary school level.
"In addition, it is hoped that an association of professional educators who are concerned about efforts to improve education at the micro and macro levels is expected," said the SoMTe Management team, Jayanti.
Jayanti added that the twenty-four teachers participating in the SoMTe training in Makassar were the first batch. Currently they have passed the lecture stage for seven meetings, Military Super Camp, and the first stage of Supervision and Coaching.
"Currently (they) are undergoing the second phase of supervision and coaching and are completing scientific papers. Furthermore, they are scheduled to undergo a scientific paper trial and graduation in early February, "added Jayanti.
In addition to preparing a closing program, SoMTe managers are also opening registration for the second batch of participants starting from January 1 to January 25 2015. "This program opens opportunities for elementary school teachers who have the will and enthusiasm to learn and improve the quality of their teachers. , "Said the SGI coordinator Dompet Dhuafa South Sulawesi region, Dasnah.
The selected participants will go through three stages of selection, namely file selection, interview, and microteaching. After being accepted, they will take part in several stages of the educational process, namely the Studium Generale (Public lecture), orientation, lectures (every Sunday for the first two months), Supervision of learning and Coaching, Teachers Military Super Camp, Writing Scientific Papers (PTK), PTK trial (in the last month) and graduation.
Teachers who have and will get education at SoMTe are expected to become teachers with the character of Educators, Teachers, Leaders (3P) who are able to create creative, innovative, and fun learning classes in order to produce smart and character students.
The participants claimed to have benefited from attending the training at SoMTe. "SGI is a training platform for teachers to become full-fledged teachers, teachers, educators as well as leaders. Entering SGI is a tremendous blessing. We have learned so many things, especially the knowledge of being a great teacher, "said Hawiah, one of the SoMTe participants who is listed as a first grade teacher at SD Inpres.
