Hilman said, during this year's Hajj season there are approximately 62 thousand elderly pilgrims who must be facilitated and served, from the aspect of worship and other services.
"Based on the data we have, this year there are approximately 62 elderly congregations (elderly) that we must provide and serve well, both in terms of worship and other service aspects. Therefore, we are preparing various things related to mitigating standardized elderly services, health aspects and general services," Hilman said in a statement released Republika, Tuesday (7/2/2023).
Ministry of Religion, he continued, will also prepare officers who will accompany the elderly. These officers will later be given special insight in dealing with these elderly pilgrims, bearing in mind that this year the Ministry of Religion has an Elderly Friendly Hajj program.
Hilman also said that in this year's pilgrimage, the elderly will dominate. Therefore, maximum service for them will be implemented, with careful planning with certain consumption menus.
Given the condition of these elderly pilgrims, he also previously said he would simplify the reception of pilgrims at the Hajj hostel. Another reason is to see the condition of the pilgrims who have traveled a long way from their respective areas, but still have to prepare themselves to fly to the Holy Land the next day.
"For dormitories, we conveyed to the Head of Regional Office and Head of UPT Haj Dormitory to design procedures (SOP) when entering the welcoming dormitory, don't be too wordy," he said.
He admitted that in previous years the welcoming of pilgrims who arrived at the Embarkation took too long. In fact, the condition of the pilgrims is tired from their area and the next day they have to go to Holy Land. So, it will try to be more concise.
