Some of the Prayers Taught by the Prophet for Meruqyah

Some of the Prayers Taught by the Prophet for Meruqyah

  1. Imam Bukhari and Muslim narrated from Aisha ra, that the Messenger of Allah once read a prayer for some of his family and rubbed their sick body parts with his right hand. He said:

“Allaahumma robban-unlucky, adzhibil-ba'sa. Isyfih. Wa antasy-syaafii, laa syifaa-a illa syifaauk, syifaa-an laa yughadiru saqoma” [O Allah, Lord of mankind, take away pain. Give him healing. You are the One who heals, and there is no healing (other than You), healing that is not accompanied by (other) disease].

  1. Imam Muslim narrated from Uthman Abu 'Ash, that he once complained about his pain to the Messenger of Allah. Then the Messenger of Allah said to him, "Put your hand on the part of the body that you feel pain, then say 'Bismillah' and say 7 times the following sentence:

"A'uudzu billaahi waqudrotihi min syarri maa ajidu wa uhadzir" (I seek refuge in Allah and His power from the evil that I live and I fear).

Then I said as the Messenger of Allah commanded several times. After that, I didn't feel anything inside of me. For that, I always ask my family and others to read this prayer.

  1. Imam Tirmidhi narrated from Muhammad bin Salim, he said, Thabit Banai said, O Muhammad, if you feel pain in your body, then put your hand where you feel pain, then recite:

“Bismillaahi a'uudzu bi'izzatillaahi waqudrotihi min syarri maa ajidu min waja'ii haadzaa” (In the name of Allah, I seek refuge in the glory of Allah and His power from the badness of what I feel in my body and this pain).

Then raise your hand and repeat until you reach an odd number. Indeed, Anas bin Malik said that the Messenger of Allah ordered this.

  1. Ibn Abbas narrated that the Messenger of Allah said, "Whoever visits a sick person who has not yet died, then he says 7 times next to him:

"As-alullaahal-'azhim, robbal-'arsyil-'azhim, ay-yasyfiyak" (I ask Allah the Most High, the Lord of the Great Throne, may He heal you), Allah will give you healing from your illness." (Hadith History of Abu Dawud and Tirmidhi). Tirmidhi said that this hadith is hasan. The judge said, this hadith is authentic under the conditions of Bukhari.

  1. Imam Bukhari narrated from Ibn Mas'ud that the Messenger of Allah prayed for Hasan and Husayn by reading:

"U'idzukumaa bkalimaatillaahit-taammati min kulli syaithooniw wahaammatiw wamin kulli 'ainil laammah" (I ask for protection for both of you with some perfect words of Allah from every (disruption) devil and poisonous animal and from every despicable disease of 'ain)

After that, he said, "Verily your parents (Prophet Ibrahim) also asked for protection with this sentence on Ismail and Ya'kub."

  1. Imam Muslim narrated from Sa'ad bin Abi Waqash that the Messenger of Allah visited him when he was sick. Then the Messenger of Allah read, "O Allah, grant healing to Sa'ad. O Allah, grant healing to Sa'ad. O Allah, grant healing to Sa'ad." [Taken from the book of Fiqh Sunnah, by Sayyid Sabiq] [DDHKNews]
