Application for KTP

You must have a KTP (National Identity Card) within 30 days after you arrive in Hong Kong. Your first ID card is free.

To obtain a KTP, applications can be filed at the Individual Registration office, Immigration Department as listed below. Don't forget to bring your passport or other travel documents.

To save time, it is recommended that you use the Booking System by making an early appointment by phone 2598-0888 or via the website at www.gov.hk/icbooking.

Warning:
Always tell the registration officer everything honestly. If not, you can be jailed and sentenced to pay a fine.

Save KTP
The KTP is a very important document, and it must legally be with you forever. Keep it in your wallet or purse where you can easily pick it up, and the card is in good condition.
From time to time you can be asked by the police to show your KTP. This is part of their routine, don't panic.

There are two other things to remember:
If your KTP is lost, machine-readable or damaged you must report this to the Individual Registration Office within 14 days and apply for a new KTP.

If there are changes to your personal data specifically (such as personal status, address, etc.) you must submit it to the individual registration office.

For residents
Dependent visa
Applications for a dependent visa can be made at an outside China representative office
country or the nearest Chinese consular office to one's residence
before someone comes to Hong Kong. Another way can also be

You are asked to check in detail the terms of the application
requested by the Immigration Department.

There is also a guidebook on immigration guidelines for entering Hong Kong SAR under the title “Immigration Guidelines for Entry to the HKSAR of the People's Republic of China” which can be obtained from the Information and Liaison Section of the Immigration Department, 2 / F, Immigration Tower, 7 Gloucester Road, Wan Chai, Hong Kong. In general, the following documents must be attached by the sponsor to support the application:

  • Evidence of the relationship between the sponsor and the dependents;
  • Proof of financial condition and accommodation from the sponsor; and
  • Supporting evidence that the sponsor can pay for the dependents during their stay in Hong Kong.

Residence rights
Residence rights may be a very complicated issue depending on
the condition of each person. For more detailed information, please call the Immigration Department hotline at 2824-6111.

Marriage registration
You are asked in advance to return the formul ir Surat

You can make an appointment to return the Marriage Notification Letter form via the marriage.esd.gov.hk website or through an interactive voice answering system or the Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) at 3102-3883 by pressing the preferred number if you wish to register for a marriage registry.

If you wish to conduct your marriage with a body
civil marriage, you can see “List of Civil Marriage Bodies that are
officially appointed ”on the most recent information on the website of the Immigration Department: www.
immd.gov. hk.

Birth registration
Births must be registered within 42 days of birth
someone to the District Registry office. For babies born in the hospital, there is no need to be brought to the birth registration office to register the birth.

To register births, the following original documents need to be prepared:

  • Parents Marriage Certificate; and
  • Parents' Hong Kong Permanent Identity Card; or
  • Parent's KTP and valid travel documents.
  • The above documents are usually sufficient to explain the permanent status of a living child in Hong Kong under the Immigration Act (Article 115). You can also be asked to provide other supporting documents.

If the birth registration is carried out within 42 days after birth, no fee is charged.

Death registration

In the relevant laws and regulations, death caused by things
natural and where the victim is registered with an official medical practice, the death must be registered within 24 hours.

Usually, the victim's family, for example the one who brought the news,
must bring the following documents to register the death:

  • Medical Certificate of the Cause of Death (Form 18) signed by a medical officer who was present at the death of the victim;
  • Hong Kong Identity Card / Victim Travel Document; and
  • Hong Kong Identity Card / Travel Document of the victim's family.
  • The victim's family will be asked to complete the victim's information such as occupation, nationality, marital status, etc. to be recorded.

Death registration is free of charge. However, there will be a fee
a copy of the death document if requested upon issuance of the death registration.

If death was caused by something unusual (such as poisoning,
riot etc.), the case will be reported to the coroner (the registrar
dead cause). The coroner can ask a question or
action for final test of cause of death. Usually, it takes the coroner about six months to determine the cause of death.

When the cause of death has been determined and known by the coroner,
deaths will be recorded within one week, and registrar
will contact the victim's family by letter. All questions
about this case should be communicated to the office of “Births & Deaths General
Register Office ”at 2867-2784.
