My Life Has Many Trials

ASKING:

Assalamualaikum, Chaplain.

Sir, I want to ask. Why is my life so many trials? Is it because of the many sins I have committed?

Starting from family problems, until I became a single parent with two children and a husband who was completely irresponsible, the situation of my parents who had gone bankrupt and had nothing, to me who had to leave the country hoping to help the family but in fact many get a trial in a foreign country.

In the first contract, I finished. Then I changed my employer, after only 10 months I have given notice to terminate the work contract. Now, it has only been 6 months, I can't stand it anymore because it turns out that this employer is worse than the previous one.

I want to find an employer again, I don't have the courage because maybe my visa won't come out. Staying here, my mind can't live it.

I'm afraid of stress too. I can't take holidays, I can't leave the house. The employer is always sarcastic. If I was just a little late, he said, "Are you praying to your Lord?" while grumpy.

At this employer, I couldn't pray. Maybe Isha is all I can do. How can I pray the five daily prayers? In fact, when the work contract is signed, prayer is permitted. In fact, you can't.

Last month, my son broke his finger when he fell off his bicycle. Now, my parents are sick, they bleed when they spit.

I feel really guilty about my child. Before my child broke his finger, I had a dream. My son and I were chased by snakes. The snake wants to eat us. We ran.

On the way, we got separated. The snake was chasing my son. He bit my son's leg, then I killed the snake and cut it in half.

A few weeks later, right on Mother's Day, December 22, 2020, I got the news that my child's middle finger was broken up to a nail. When asked, he seemed confused to answer it. He just said, It doesn't hurt and there are no other wounds on the hands and body. Only, suddenly his finger broke.

Why are there so many trials that I have to face? how do you get Allah to forgive His servants? Sometimes, I feel like I can't live this life.

Thank you very much for the advice and solutions.

Salam,

Fulanah

ANSWER:

Wa'alaikumussalam warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.

Sometimes, humans often complain. Some say, "Allah is unjust, the rich get richer, the poor remain poor forever." Sometimes there is another expression, "why do I have to be given continuous tests?" This expression is often used as a form of resentment over the deficiencies that exist in humans.

We need to understand:

First, this world is a battlefield for a believer / believer to be the best I can be. Allah Ta'ala said:

تبارك الذي بيده الملك وهو على كل شيء قدير الذي خلق الموت والحياة ليبلوكم أيكم أحسن عملا وهو العزيز الغفور

"Glory be to Allah, in whose hand are all kingdoms, and He has power over all things. Who made death and life, so that he might test you, which of you has the better to do. And He is Mighty, Most Forgiving. " (Surah Al-Mulk: 1-2)

Second, humans will rise in rank and standing before God if they are strong in facing all the trials and trials in this life. Ali ibn Abi Talib once said:

الله يختبر عباده بأنواع الشدائد ، ويتعبدهم بأنواع المجاهد ، ويبتليهم بضروب المكاره إخراجاً للتكبر من قلن وليجعل ذلك أبواباً فتحاً إلى فضله ، وأسباباً ذللاً لعفوه

“Allah will test His servants with various kinds of tough tests, record all efforts as a form of worship, and test them with various kinds of trials. The goal is that people do not have an arrogant heart, always be humble, and as the key to gaining grace and opening the door to His forgiveness.

Therefore, we must be kind to Allah, repent and ask for forgiveness, be patient, and of course not leave our obligations to Allah such as the five daily prayers.

God willing, every difficulty has an easy way. There is not a single human being that Allah has presented on this earth without a test. And may Allah make it a test for every servant to remember Him more.

Now, for the five daily prayers, do as much as possible, because prayer is our duty and the right of Allah. We must remember, everything we get, including income and salary in Hong Kong, is a fortune from Allah.

Wallâhu a'lam bish-showâb.

Regards!
