Madrasah Faizan-E-Auliya Allah, a place for Friday prayer in Yuen Long

PING SHAN | HONG KONG - Yuen Long is one of the areas in Hong Kong where male Indonesian citizens (WNI) live. Most of them have legal residency and work permits. Others became illegal workers in the Land of Concrete. Many also have overstayer status and even hold the status of Hong Kong Immigration recognized paper (paperan).

So, here we are not discussing these statuses. Whatever their status, if they are Muslims, then they have the obligation to perform the Friday prayers and the five daily prayers in congregation.

Or, because Yuen Long is one of the areas that many female Indonesian migrant workers (PMI) visit and live in Hong Kong, apart from Causeway Bay and Tsim Sha Tsui, they may be visited by male friends or family members.

Unfortunately, in the vicinity of the Long Ping MTR train station, "Srikandi field", and Tai Kiu Market, which is the center of activities for Friends of Migrants in Yuen Long, it is not yet known that there are no madrasas or mushalla that can be stopped for congregational prayers, especially for Friday prayers.

However, there is good news coming from the General Manager Dompet Dhuafa Hong Kong (DDHK), Ustadz Imam Baihaqi. He reported that last week (22/11/2019), together with Dai Cordofa DDHK, Ustadz Talqis Nurdianto, carried out Friday prayers at the Faizan-E-Auliya Allah Madrasah in the Ping Shan area. The good news is that the madrasah is not far from the Srikandi field.

"The Ping Shan Mushalla in Yuen Long can also be used for Friday prayers," said Ustadz Imam.

Based on its official Facebook account, the madrasa is located at the Lok Kui Building, located at Ping Ha Road Number 2, Ping Shan, Yuen Long. According to Google Map directions, along Ping Ha Road, Madrasah Faizan-E-Auliya Allah can be reached in just 36 minutes by foot from Yuen Long West Bus Terminus, a bus terminal located near “Srikandi field”. Or, via the Ping Shan Nam Pak Road, with a distance of 41 minutes.

For Muslim friends who are reluctant to walk, you can also go to the location by using the Light Rail or the short train that operates in Yuen Long. The distance is shorter, only 23 minutes.

"From the Srikandi field, just walk to the Fung Nin Road stop. After passing 2 bus stops, get off at the Ping Shan stop. Not far from the Ping Shan stop, you can see the prayer room, ”said Ustadz Imam.

What is interesting is that right next to the madrasa, there is a canteen that sells Halal food, typical of Pakistan and India. So, after the Friday prayer in congregation, you can immediately have lunch! [DDHKNews]
