STORY FROM PRISON

LO WU | HONG KONG - On Sunday (22/9/2019), I was from the volunteer team Dompet Dhuafa Hong Kong together with 6 fellow Indonesian migrant workers (PMI) Hong Kong visited Lo Wu Correctional Institution or Lo Wu Prison. They are Sri Wahyuni, Yohanna Herminah, Endang Sumartini, Sutarni, Wiji Lestari, and Reni Suherti.

Ukhti Sutarni had the opportunity to visit F, a drug abuse convict. "Alhamdulillah, wasy-thank God, even though it was only for a few minutes, sister F did not show the slightest sadness on her innocent and elegant face. He told his story when he first got an accident, so fate took him to be in detention, ”said Sutarni.

According to F's confession, he only had bad luck because of the wrong association. On the day of his arrest, he was at the market. F admitted that a friend who had only known him had a bag for a few months. It turned out that when the police searched it, there were drugs in the bag.

F then talked about his activities in detention which made him happy, happy, and able to distract from his sadness. "Every day F with other prisoners did gymnastics, dancing and sewing. F also attended a make-up course, ”said Sutarni, telling the story that F had told him.

On this occasion F also talked about his sadness who missed his family in his hometown. He talked about his son and mother who knew about his situation in Hong Kong.

At the end of the visit, Sutarni advised F to maintain his health, always be patient, be courageous, and remain enthusiastic in facing the trials of life that he must endure. On the other hand, F left a message for all Indonesian citizens, especially PMI in Hong Kong, to be more careful, including making friends, in order to avoid negative things, such as what was experienced by F.
