Hong Kong Government Distributes HK$3.000 e-Voucher This Week

DDHK. ORG – The Hong Kong government will distribute the first installment of e-vouchers under the 2023 Consumption Voucher Scheme to around 6,4 million people this Sunday, April 16, 2023.

Reporting from China Daily, Special Administrative Region Government Hong Kong namely the SAR Government said in a statement, those who successfully registered under the CVS last year will receive the first installment on Sunday. For permanent residents and newcomers get vouchers HK$3.000 ($ 382,16).

Meanwhile, eligible persons coming to live in Hong Kong through various admissions programs for talents, professionals and entrepreneurs, and to study in Hong Kong, will receive a $1.500 voucher.

The HKSAR government earlier announced it would be distributing HK$5.000 in e-vouchers this year and the second installment would be disbursed from July 16 onwards.

Those who use AlipayHK, BoC Pay, Octopus, HSBC's PayMe, Tap & Go and WeChat Pay HK to redeem e-vouchers will receive an SMS notification or mobile app push notification on Sunday.

"The government reminds people who use Octopus to receive vouchers that they must take the first installment voucher with the same Octopus card used to collect vouchers last year," the statement read.

"If the Octopus card has been returned or lost, they must use the Octopus card that was registered through the change of registration application to retrieve the voucher," he added.

Due to the limit on the stored value of Octopus cards, those who cannot collect the full amount can get the remaining value after spending the initial amount they received.

The SAR government said the stored value facility accounts of some 7.000 recipients had become invalid but they had not updated their registration records.

They can submit an application to update their records and their voucher will be disbursed by April 16th at the latest.

The SAR government said it would arrange with the relevant SVF operator to disburse the first installment vouchers to them as soon as possible, and they would be notified of the specific date separately. [DDHK News]
