Dai Ocean Dompet Dhuafa: Syiar Islam Above the Sea

Dai_Ocean DDDDHK News, Indonesia - End of last year, Dompet Dhuafa sent two preachers to preach on the Indonesian National Shipping Ship (Pelni) in the program Dai Ocean.

The two preachers, Ustaz Imran Baihaki and Ustaz Husnul Mubarok, for a week (30 December 2014-5 January 2015) preached to 350-400 passengers on a ship belonging to Pelni named Kapal Motor (KM) Lawit (route Tanjung Priok Port Jakarta-Tanjung Pandan Pontianak- Tanjung Perak Surabaya) and KM Ceremai (Tanjung Perak Surabaya-Tanjung Priok Jakarta route).

Dai Samudera is one of the programs Dompet Dhuafa who dispatch preachers to carry out Islamic da'wah activities on boats, especially for passengers traveling from one island to another.

Through this kind of da'awi charity (da'wah activity), Dai Samudera greets the passengers as the object of da'wah directly, intimate and full of the spirit of brotherhood, be it brotherhood of faith or of the same country and country.

In addition, the preacher can also participate in the prosperity of the prayer rooms on the ship, both acting as the mandatory prayer imam, muezzin, priest / khotib Friday prayers and filling religious lectures or tausiah such as maghrib lectures, dawn lectures and midday lectures.

The preachers also opened a forum for question and answer or consultation related to issues of Islam, faith, morals, fiqh, hadith, muamalah, and contemporary issues. The dai also provides opportunities to learn to read al-Quran (tahsin qiroatil qur'an) for passengers who cannot or are not fluent in reading al-Quran.

The following is the report of Ustaz Imran Baihaki and Ustaz Husnul Mubarok during their week on a ship across the vast Indonesian seas.

The da'wah activities carried out by us at KM Lawit were quite dense, because the route it took was quite long, about 4 days 4 nights from Tanjung Priok Port to Tanjung Pandan, Pontianak until it ended at Tanjung Perak Surabaya. The trip schedule has no significant changes, except when landing in Pontianak, KM Lawit experienced a delay of about 2 hours due to the swift and high tide of the sea water in the estuary, preventing the arrival of the boat guide to bring KM Lawit to land. Second, there are ships crossing in the middle of the lane, so KM Lawit has to wait until the route is free of obstacles. In short, the da'wah activities carried out by us at KM Lawit went well and smoothly.

The types of da'wah activities at KM Lawit are compulsory congregational prayer, religious tausiyah (ba'da shubuh, ba'da zuhur lecture, ba'da maghrib lecture), imam / khutbah Friday prayer, book study, study of the Qur'an & hadith interpretation. Prophet SAW, and religious consultation (general or personal).

The obligatory prayers in congregation can be carried out properly and solemnly. This obligatory prayer is done in three times, namely Fajr, Zuhr and Asr prayers done at noon time in congregation 'taqdim and qashor. Then Maghrib and Isha are done at maghrib in congregation 'taqdim and qashor. Every mandatory prayer time, KM Lawit's prayer room named Musala Safinatul Muqorrobin is always full of congregation prayers. In the mosque covering an area of about 8 x12 meters, both men and women whose places are specially provided at the back of the men's row. The implementation of the obligatory prayers in congregation is a form of good cooperation and synergy between the dai of the ocean and the ships and the musala administrators.

Half an hour before the prayer time, KM Lawit's information officer announces the prayer times and Qibla direction to all passengers and encourages passengers, Muslims and Muslims to carry out the Fardu prayer in congregation. Even when the time of prayer arrives (Fajr, Zuhr and Maghrib) the sound of the call to prayer via electronic is echoed so that the passengers hear it.

After the first call to prayer (with electronic / CD / cassette finished, then the Muadzin at the Mushalla will announce the call to prayer. Meanwhile, the musala committee prepares prayer facilities, such as aligning prayer lines (shaf), placing prayer mats for the priest and preparing the sound system. Ablution place is already available. , either to the right or to the left of the prayer room. We also act as priests and mudzin according to the schedule agreed upon beforehand. After prayers, we guide the dhikr and prayer.

Religious consultation is carried out non-formal, casual but serious. The time and location is unlimited, it can be held in a prayer room, restaurant, cafeteria, room, lobby room, ship deck and in the deck hallway while looking at the beautiful waves in the ocean

In terms of religious consultations, every day at least two or three passengers carry out religious consultations with various problems and questions to us. There were also passengers who shared their personal life problems. There is even one person asking a few questions, two or three questions.

An example is the question about fiqh that has often been heard, namely what is the law if the Imam does not read / filter the reading basmalah when the prayer that is reciting Al Fatihah or the letter has to be sung? After hearing our answers or explanations, they generally feel helpful and satisfied.

Regarding the study of the book, the theme raised was adapted to the conditions of the congregation who was someone who was traveling (traveler). Among the themes chosen were related to safar (travel) manners. Book study is carried out during Fajr lecture. The book used is "Manhajul Mu'min". This book study was attended by about 15-20 people. Including some of the women who sat in the back which had been provided.

The da'wah activities at KM Ceremai are not much different from those at KM Lawit. It's just that, at KM Ceremai there are no Friday prayers / sermons, because the trip from Tanjung Perak Surabaya to Tanjung Priok Jakarta falls between Sunday and Monday. Second, the da'wah activities at KM Ceremai were short and not as busy as those at KM Lawit. Apart from the short time lag, the KM Ceremai departure schedule has changed. Originally scheduled to depart from Tanjung Perak at 18.00:3 p.m., Saturday, January 01.30, it changed to 4:4 a.m. on Sunday, January 5, so that KM Ceremai arrived at Tanjung Priok Harbor at 2015 am, Monday, January XNUMX, XNUMX.

Due to these conditions and the length of time waiting for KM Ceremai to depart at the Port of Tanjung Perak Surabaya, the pre-arranged agenda for preaching activities automatically changes. Even so, we are still enthusiastic and try to coordinate with KM Ceremai officers and KM Ceremai musala administrators. Right at 7.30 after breakfast, we met the Mualim (a ship officer with a nautical trade certificate) at the Ceremai Ship Pavilion. After arriving at the Pavilion, we were received by an officer or mualim named Bambang Rosadi. He greeted us well and warmly, even taking photos together in the bridge room. After Muallim knew the intent and purpose of Dai Samudera, he ordered one of the ship's crew (ABK) to take us to the musala committee. And we said goodbye after saying thank you for the cooperation and kind welcome from the Chief Officer. (Dompetdhuafa.org). *
