Government Trial New Normal in Blitar

DDHK.ORG - The government claims that there has been a decline in cases of the corona virus in the country. Simultaneously, at the beginning of October 2021, the Government conducted a new normal trial for 2 weeks in Blitar City, East Java, until October 18, in line with the implementation of level 1 Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) in that area.

The Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, said that Blitar was chosen based on the indicators set by WHO. "The implementation of the PPKM level 1 trial is implemented because it has met the requirements of the WHO (World Health Organization) indicators and vaccination achievement targets," he said at a press conference held on Monday (4/10/2021), as reported by Indonesian CNN.

As is known, the achievement of dose 1 vaccination in Blitar City has reached 70 percent. In addition, the city has also met the target of achieving vaccination for the elderly, by 60 percent.

"The implementation of PPKM level 1 will approach normal community life activities," said Luhut.

This trial process will be balanced with surveillance, tracing, testing, and application of health protocols. The government will also deploy a special team in Blitar to monitor the implementation of the new normal.

"We and the Minister of Health (Minister of Health) will deploy a special team to monitor the implementation of PPKM level 1 in Blitar City, so that later it will become a role model for other cities/regencies," said Luhut. [DDHKNews]
