Food Ingredients Are Still Difficult to Find in the Earthquake Location of West Sulawesi

This is the current condition at the location of the West Sulawesi (Sulbar) earthquake as of Friday (21/1/2021), as stated in the West Sulawesi Earthquake Response report submitted Disaster Management Center (RCD) Dompet Dhuafa, Saturday (22/1/2021). "The availability of foodstuffs is still difficult, economic activities such as food stalls and others are still closed," said the report.

As is known, the earthquake that rocked West Sulawesi in Majene had a magnitude of 6,2 in the early hours of January 15, 2021 and a magnitude of 5,9 on the previous day. The province has also set the Emergency Response status for the period 15-28 January 2021.

Based on data from National Disaster Management Authority (BNPB), the earthquake disaster killed 91 people, 3 people are still missing, 1.172 people were injured, and 9.910 people were displaced. As a response to the earthquake in West Sulawesi, Dompet Dhuafa opened posts in Majene and Mamuju. In Majene, the post is located in Sulai Hamlet, Sulai Village, Ulumanda District. Meanwhile in Mamuju, the post is located at MAN 1 Mamuju, Jl. Soekarno-Hatta. Dompet Dhuafa also opened a Logistics Post in Mamuju, which is located on Jl. Soekarno Hatta No.27, Sombori District.

DMC Dompet Dhuafa deployed 39 personnel, 1 ambulance, 3 operational cars, and 4 operational motorbikes to the disaster site.

On January 21, 2021, DMC Dompet Dhuafa conducted several actions in the Majene area. First, assessment and coordination. The assessment was carried out in Lombang Village consisting of Marasile, Lombang, Takapa Barat, Takapa, Tasukke, Beroangin, and Buttutala hamlets, with a total of 264 families and 989 people. The assessment was also carried out in Lombang Timur Village, which consists of the hamlets of Ulu Lombang, Panapo, Salutakkaan, Kampung Baru, Sepang, Passorangan, Tannisero, and Pebulahanga, with 295 families and 1.050 people. Another assessment was carried out in Salutambung Village, Ulumanda Subdistrict, with a focus on Tatebajo Hamlet with 35 families and Campalagian hamlet with 29 families.

Second, the Warm Post service. Services are provided in two locations in Sulai Hamlet, Sulai Village, Ulumanda District. One is near the village office, the other is near the main road.

Third, public kitchen service. "The Public Kitchen Team together with the Warm Post Team installed clean water into the public kitchen for cooking and washing dishes," wrote the DMC report.

Fourth, logistics distribution. The team distributed 4 blankets in Desai Sulai and 5 tarpaulin tents in Salutambung Village, Ulumanda District.

Meanwhile, the DMC DD actions in the Mamuju area included, first, assessment. The assessment was carried out at the Baitul Ikhsan Mosque refugee camp (Jl. M. Husni Tamrin No.8) and at the Simbuang refugee camp.

Second, logistics distribution. The team distributed 10 pieces of tarpaulin at the Pangunboang Hamlet shelter, Tadui Village, Mamuju District.
