Dompet Dhuafa Open 2 medical posts to public kitchens in South Kalimantan flood locations

There were four actions carried out by DMC DD at the location of the South Kalimantan flood. First, assessment. DMC Team Dompet Dhuafa also coordinate with Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) for handling flash floods in the upstream of the middle river which has started to enter the transition recovery period.

Second, evacuation. The DMC DD Evacuation Team carried out the evacuation and mobilization of the Medical Team in isolated refugee areas. The location is in Kahampaian Ilir Village, Astambul District, Banjar Regency.

Third, opening a public kitchen in Bulayak Village, Hantakan District, Hulu Sungai Tengah. Fourth, opening a Medical Post service at two points. Namely, the evacuation location of the Samarotul Ihtihat Mosque, Melayu Ulu Village, East Martapura District, Banjar Regency, and Kahampaian Ilir Village, Astambul District, Banjar Regency.

"The resources deployed Dompet Dhuafa includes 22 personnel, 2 operational cars, 1 hearse, and 1 ambulance, "the DMC report said.

As is known, rain with moderate to high intensity caused flooding on January 12, 2021 ago in South Kalimantan. The province also declared an emergency status on January 14-21, 2021, and has been extended to January 28, 2021. According to data from the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), the flood disaster resulted in 5 deaths, 27.111 houses submerged, and 112.709 residents displaced.

In response to floods in South Kalimantan, Dompet Dhuafa set up two posts at once. Namely, Pos Banjar Baru and Pos Tabalong.

The Banjarbaru post is located on Jl. Bina Guna, Gunung Manggis Village, Landasan Ulin District, Banjarbaru City. Meanwhile, Tabalong Post is located at RT.07, Banua Rantau Village, Banua Lawas District, Tabalong Regency.

"The urgent needs of people affected by the disaster, namely logistics, family kits, baby equipment, health services, evacuation, and clean water," wrote DMC DD in its report. [DDHK News]
