Saudi Arabian Residents' Houses in Makkah Can Be Rented to Pilgrims

DDHK. ORG - Saudi Arabian citizens in Makkah can currently rent houses to pilgrims. Pilgrimage Housing Committee in Makkah City, Saudi Arabia announced they had started accepting residents' requests to rent out housing units for pilgrims.

Previously, reported from Republika, the committee appealed to the owners of all residential units who wish to rent out their housing units to accommodate pilgrims to immediately contact the designated technical office.

This step is to complete the procedure for issuing their residential unit permit.

Meanwhile Office of the Mayor of Makkah stated that it would continue to accept applications from residents during the coming period.

"There are a number of engineering consulting offices accredited by the mayor and civil defense to carry out inspections of pilgrim housing units to verify whether they comply with the terms and conditions set out in the regulations, and issue appropriate certificates of eligibility," the mayor's office said.

"On that basis, the Pilgrims Housing Committee will issue housing unit permits to accommodate pilgrims," ​​he said, quoted from Saudi Gazette, Tuesday (24/1/2023).

The committee urges residents to contact them to find out the terms and conditions specified to facilitate the issuance of permits to use their housing units to accommodate pilgrims.

The mayor's office requires all building owners wishing to rent it to comply with all requirements, as well as all elements of safety and security that must be provided, according to regulations on construction and safety requirements.

CEO of The Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites, Eng. Saleh Bin Ibrahim Al-Rasheed, said, is working on developing more than 30 new neighborhoods in Makkah. This development was carried out to display it in a modern form.

This was conveyed by Al-Rasheed at the 22nd Hajj Umrah Scientific Forum dialogue session. He added, the new environment relies on an architectural identity based on three main assets.
