Quarantine Regulations in Indonesia: These foreigners are free from quarantine to enter Indonesia (Part 2)

DDHK.ORG - In principle, based on the latest regulations, Indonesia prohibits foreign nationals (WNA) from entering this country during the Covid-19 pandemic. However, these regulations, namely Circular (SE) of the Covid-19 Handling Task Force Number 8 of 2021 concerning International Travel Health Protocol during the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) Pandemic, provide exceptions for foreigners who meet the 3 criteria below.

These criteria are:

  1. In accordance with the provisions in the Regulation of the Minister of Law and Human Rights (Permenkumham) Number 26 of 2020 concerning Visas and Stay Permits in the New Habit Adaptation Period. Quoting Kompas, Permenkumham Number 26 Year 2020 states, only foreigners who travel on business are allowed to enter Indonesian territory.
  2. In accordance with the Travel Corridor Arrangement (TCA) bilateral agreement scheme, and / or;
  3. Get special consideration / permission in writing from the Ministry / Institution.

Even so, they had to comply with a fairly strict procedure. Including, quarantine obligations.

However, this Circular provides exemptions to certain foreigners, so that they are not subject to quarantine obligations.

First, Foreigners holding diplomatic visas and official visas related to official / state visits of foreign officials at ministerial level and above.

Second, Foreigners who enter Indonesia through the Travel Corridor Arrangement scheme.

Even so, they must still strictly implement health protocols. [DDHK News]
