Regarding a letter from the Koupsi Eradication Commission (KPK) regarding allegations of corruption and abuse of office in the process of appointing a single labor insurance consortium, Minister of Manpower and Transmigration Muhaimin Iskandar said he was ready to fix it.
"So the KPK letter to fix, so we fix it," said Manaker after signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Minister of Manpower and Transmigration and the Police regarding cooperation on Manpower and Transmigration law enforcement, Thursday (7/10) at the Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration.
Muhaimin explained that insurance, which is now a new program for employment, is an effort to provide protection for workers who have so far experienced problems or calamities both at home and abroad.
"Actually, we observed and analyzed for nearly six months that the entire insurance consortium submitted proposals, we then examined, reviewed, and tested the assessment team. There is a score, and we all do it objectively, because we don't want insurance to be a burden on our workforce. The money for our TKI must be used properly for TKI, ”he said.
Furthermore, Muhaimin said, in the future, no matter how bad the events faced by TKI, insurance will cover it. "So the insurance company must be healthy. If the insurance company is healthy, the condition must be a healthy condition. Unlike now, competition is so tight, discount wars and so on, "he continued.
Regarding the insurance premium for TKI, Muhaimin said, "Healthy insurance actually costs Rp. 750 thousand, but because of that, the TKI ends up being Rp. 400 thousand, that can only be done. We need a healthy company, which does not play behind the scenes with other parties, so that it provides more assurance, which is called a guarantee of additional benefits, "he explained.
