Is it okay to embroider verses of the Qur'an during menstruation?

ASKING:

Assalamualaikum. Chaplain,

During the holidays, my friend was asked to help her friend to embroider the calligraphy verses of the Qur'an, but my friend refused on the grounds that she was unable to get her period (menstruation came).

Regarding this, how is the law in Islam? If you are unable to do so, is it permissible to embroider / sew verses of the Qur'an?

thanks.

Salam,

Fulanah

ANSWER:

Wa'alaikumussalam warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.

There are summaries or differences in this regard. Just like the law of writing Al-Quran.

  1. When writing it together by touching or lifting the manuscript, it is haram. Imam Nawawi said that scholars have different opinions about the law of writing the Al-Qur'an manuscripts for people who have hadats.

Meaning: "(Fourth), if someone has hadats or a junub writes a Mushaf, the law is examined first.

  1. If the writer's hand does not touch the written media (paper / board, etc.), then the law is:
  2. In the opinion of sahih (right), it is okay.
  3. According to the famous opinion, the law is haram.
  4. According to some other opinions as conveyed by Al-Mawardi, the law is haram for people who are junk, but for those who haveats it is permissible ”(Imam Nawawi, al-Majmu ', Darul Fikr: tt, juz 2, p. 70).

Some other scholars chose a middle path. That is, as long as the purpose of the maker is for learning materials (dirâsah), the law is the same as the Mushaf of the Koran, even though the writing is only a piece of verse. However, if it is only for decoration, amulets, and the like, it is not called a Mushaf.

So that the connection is embroidering or sewing verses Al-Quran for decoration it is considered not a Mushaf, but for effort (caution) because what is sewn or embroidered are verses Al-Quran, preferably in a holy state.

Thus, wallaahu a'lam bish-showâb.

Regards!
