The 11th Conference of the World Muslim Youth Association (WAMY) was opened at the Jakarta Convention Center, Saturday (2/10).
The WAMY conference with the theme "Youth and Social Responsibility" will be held at the Sultan Hotel on Sunday to Monday after the opening ceremony.
Secretary General of WAMY, Dr. Shalih Sulaiman Al Wohaibi, said that this conference will discuss more deeply about the role of youth and their responsibility for the formation of a civilized world society.
"Extremism, fundamentalism, hedonism, rampant pornography and crimes committed by youth are the focus of the WAMY congress," said Shalih Sulaiman as quoted ANTARA News.
The results of this conference discussion will be sent to the government, youth organizations, and WAMY member ministries so that they can be used as a reference and applied to youth, he added.
According to him, WAMY's toughest task is to implement the results that have been achieved in the world's youth.
The Director of WAMY Indonesia, Aang Suandi, said that this organization was not well known by the people because in carrying out its duties, WAMI had a "little talk and a lot of work".
WAMY itself has youth development activities in Indonesia, both in terms of education, culture, femininity and humanitarian assistance for the creation of a developed and civilized country. *
