Hong Kong Space Museum Presents “Moon | Mars VR”

DDHK. ORG – Space or Outer Space Museum Hong Kong always have innovation to attract many people to visit. Currently, Hong Kong Space Museum featuring virtual reality exhibits so visitors can understand space exploration on the moon and Mars.

Exhibition themed “Moon | Mars VR” will be held from December 3, 2022 until a year later. Wow, that's quite a long time.

The exhibition leverages data provided by the China National Space Administration and a Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) team led by Fiona Cheung in Spatial Sciences Professor Wu Bo, to create a virtual reality environment of our moon and planet Mars.

This exhibition allows visitors to understand spacewalking on the two celestial bodies and explore the landing sites of Chang'e 4 and Tianwen-1.

The exhibition will also introduce Chang'e and Tianwen's exploration programs, as well as the technical support provided by PolyU. Here, visitors or tourist will be able to learn more about the team's research efforts and contributions through their visit.

Just so you know, China's aerospace industry has developed rapidly, and yielded epoch-making results in lunar and Mars exploration missions in the last decade.
A dedicated science team spirit is critical to the success of this mission. The PolyU team has participated in several deep space explorations by China and made significant contributions to building devices and analyzing the data necessary for the spacecraft to carry out successful landings and sampling.

Along with being presented by the Department of Leisure and Cultural Services (LCSD) and PolyU, the virtual reality exhibition is being carried out by the Hong Kong Space Museum and the Planetary Remote Sensing Laboratory of the Research Center for Space Exploration PolyU, and supported by the China National Space Administration and Information Office. The exhibition is open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis at the Hall of the Cosmos at the Hong Kong Space Museum, 10 Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon.

As Dimsumdaily.HK disparates, In connection with the introduction of this new exhibition, the Hong Kong Space Museum has invited Professor Wu to deliver a special lecture entitled “Space Exploration: A Journey to Heavenly Questions” from 15.00 to 16.30 on 3 December 2022 at the Lecture Hall of Museum Hong Kong Outer Space.

In line with the Disease Prevention and Control (Requirements and Directives) (Business and Places) Regulations (Cap. 599F) and the requirements of the relevant administrative instructions, visitors are required to scan the place's QR code “LeaveHomeSafe” with their mobile phones/other mobile devices before being allowed into the museum under the management of LCSD.

According to the current Vaccine Pass requirements, all persons with their Vaccine Pass QR code displayed in red are not allowed to enter the museum under LCSD management while visitors holding yellow codes are allowed to enter the premises with a valid Vaccine Pass.
