2 Elderly Corona Patients in Hong Kong Dies

VICTIMS who have died as a result of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic have continued to increase in Hong Kong. Today, Thursday (13/8/2020), this raging virus claimed the lives of 2 more patients.

"This brings the number of Covid-19-related deaths in Hong Kong to 65," wrote RTHK.

Health officials also said 69 new Covid-19 cases had increased today, with 4 of them being "imported" cases.

They said 33 cases with no known source of infection, and this included a policeman, 2 nurses at a public hospital and several housewives.

One of the latest deaths is an 88-year-old female patient who was once a resident of the Cornwall Elderly Home in Tuen Mun, where 40 residents and staff have suffered from the disease.

The patient with a chronic illness was admitted to Tuen Mun Hospital on July 25 with a fever.

Meanwhile, United Christian Hospital announced that a 74-year-old woman who tested positive for the corona virus had died. He was being treated with a persistent cough and difficulty breathing since July 17.

The number of deaths related to the disease has jumped from 7 in the first week of July, after Hong Kong was hit by a new wave of Covid-19 cases.

Meanwhile, the government said it would extend the work from home arrangement for civil servants by another week, until August 23. The measures were introduced last month after coronavirus clusters emerged in different parts of Hong Kong.
