The elderly here are parents who are old and do not have the power. If he has a disease, his illness is difficult to hope for a cure. If the situation is like this, then during the month of Ramadan he is not obliged to fast and only pays fidyah.
The amount of fidyah paid is one mud. According to the syafi'iyah scholars, the dose of one mud (for example) of rice is equivalent to a weight of 675 grams/6,75 ounces of rice. Or it can be added to 7 ounces. Just multiplied by the price of rice that is usually eaten everyday.
According to BAZNAS (National Zakat Agency), should pay fidyah in the form of rice and side dishes, and be given the food three times a day. The quality of the food is not less than what we usually eat.
Due to the large difference between the daily food prices of each person, BAZNAS determined that the size of the fidyah for one day was paid at IDR 50.000. This amount is for three meals for a poor person, comfortably and satisfactorily.
