Again, Migrant Workers Completely Vaccinated in Indonesia Positive for Covid-19 in Hong Kong

“He arrived in Hong Kong on September 17 from Indonesia on flight CX798. Specimens collected upon arrival at the Temporary Specimen Collection Center at Hong Kong International Airport tested negative for Covid-19. The results of the six tests carried out during the mandatory quarantine period at the designated quarantine facility (Silka Tsuen Wan) were all negative," a spokesman for the Hong Kong Government said in a press release.

After completing the mandatory quarantine on October 7, the 30-year-old Indonesian migrant worker returned to her employer's residence at Tower 10, Phase 3-The Graces, Providence Bay, Tai Po. “The patient developed symptoms on October 8. He was tested again on October 12 and tested positive but with a low viral load (Ct value greater than 30). His test results upon admission to the hospital were uncertain. He received two doses of the COVID-19 (CoronaVac) vaccination on July 9 and August 11 in Indonesia," the spokesperson said.

Epidemiological investigations and contact tracing of this case are continuing. As a precautionary measure, the places where he lived and visited in Hong Kong during the incubation period have been included in the mandatory testing notice. People present at these venues during this period of presence of Covid patients must undergo mandatory testing on or before 16 October.
