DDHK.ORG - What is the Disease of 'Ain and What is the Relationship with Shirk?

Peace, mercy and blessings of God

Ustadz, on behalf of a friend, I want to ask a question.

Please explain about the disease 'ain and shirk, what is the difference? For example, if you are shirk, then you go to a shaman for use, does that include 'ain?

Thank you, Ustadz. Explanation please.

Greetings, Fulanah

ANSWER:

ليكم السلام الله ات

Bismillah… 'Ain literally means eye. As for the disease of 'ain in Islam is a disease that afflicts a person due to the eyes of others who do not like him, envy and envy him, or even excessive eyesight in liking the object seen.

From Ibn Abbas radiyallahu 'anhuma, the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam said:

الْعَيْنُ لو انَ ابَقَ القَدَرَ العَيْنُ (رواه لم)

"Ain is true, and if there is something that can precede destiny, then 'ain who will precede it." (HR Muslim)

Signs of someone stricken with the disease 'ain are as follows:

  1. Head often dizzy
  2. Yellow pale face
  3. Frequent cold sweat
  4. Frequent urination
  5. Frequent burping and yawning
  6. Difficulty sleeping or sleeping frequently
  7. Wet palms
  8. Wet feet
  9. Often tingling
  10. Heart beating often
  11. Easily emotional and angry
  12. Pain in the back and shoulder blades
  13. Often delirious while sleeping

'Ain has existed since ancient times, even the polytheists did this to the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam at that time. As Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala says:

ادُ لَّذِینَ ا۟ لَیُزۡلِقُونَكَ لَمَّا ا۟ لذِّكۡرَ لُونَ لَمَجۡنُونࣱ {سورة القلم: }

"And indeed the disbelievers will almost derail you with their eyes, when they hear the Qur'an they say, "He (Muhammad) really is a madman." {Surat al-Qolam: 51}

The Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam taught us to always take refuge in Allah and His perfect words from the dangers of 'ain. Among them are the following prayers:

لِمَاتِ اللهِ التَّامَّاتِ كُلِّ انٍ امَّةٍ لِّ لَّامَّةٍ

"I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the devil, the beast (slivers), and from the evil eye."

We are also encouraged if in awe of something to read:

ا اءَ اللهُ لَا لَّا اللهِ

"Allah is willing, there is no power except by Allah."

Shirk is the act of associating partners with Allah with something other than Him. Shirk is the biggest sin in which the culprit if he dies in that state and has not repented, then Allah will not forgive him.

If someone comes to a shaman and asks for help such as witchcraft and so on, then he has fallen into shirk. The person should immediately repent to Allah and not do it again.

Does that include 'ain? Most people who come to the dukun are because they want their wishes to be granted immediately. Like wanting to get rich quick, for example.

This is most likely because he is impatient with Allah's test or because he is jealous of the advantages that other people have. So he wants to achieve what he wants or even wants to harm the person he is envious of and so on. If so, then it is part of 'ain's disease too.

May Allah Subhanahu wata'ala protect us from the dangers of 'ain and shirk, amen.

Wallâhu a'lam bish-showâb.

Peace, mercy and blessings of God
