TWO elderly patients died of coronavirus in Hong Kong on Wednesday (15/7/2020). Thus, the number of Covid-19 deaths in Concrete will be 10.
The tenth person to die from Covid-19 in Hong Kong was an 89-year-old man who died at United Christian Hospital. The man, who is suffering from a chronic disease, was taken to the hospital 4 days ago, Saturday (11/7/2020), because of pneumonia. His condition worsened and he later died on Wednesday night.
Earlier on the same day, a 90-year-old woman, who was an occupant of a nursing home for the elderly in Tsz Wan Shan, which is the epicenter of the recent outbreak, also died.
Thursday, Hong Kong Record Record: 67 Cases
Hong Kong's health authorities on Thursday (16/7/2020) confirmed the daily record with an additional 67 new Covid-19 infections. Of that number, as many as 63 of them are believed to be locally infected. Worryingly, 35 of them were infected through unknown sources.
Although the number of 67 new cases is the highest number in a day, the Chuang Shuk-kwan Health Protection Center warned that the number could continue to rise. "I can't say that's the pinnacle," he told reporters. "It is possible that more cases will come," he said.
Hong Kong is currently experiencing a "new wave" of corona infections involving hundreds of cases. Authorities have expressed concern over the increasing number of cases that cannot be linked to previous infections. In fact, many of the sources are not yet known.
