The Consulate General urged Indonesian citizens in Hong Kong to register themselves to update Indonesian citizens' data

"In order to protect citizens, the Consulate General is currently updating the data of Indonesian citizens in Hong Kong gradually. Every Indonesian citizen can register themselves online at the following address: caringwni.kemlu.go.id (follow the filling instructions) or come directly to the Indonesian Consulate (Ramayana Room, 1st floor) on Sunday to Friday, 14.30-16.30, "wrote the Indonesian Consulate General in Hong Kong on its official Facebook page.

For those who come directly to the KJRI, it is advisable to bring their own documents in the form of a HKID photocopy, a photocopy of your passport, and your KTP number or family card number (if you have one). "If you have any questions, please call or WA to the KJRI hotline at: +8526773 0466 or +8526894 2799, "Wrote the Consulate General.

When contacted, one of the staff who operated the hotline number claimed that the updating of this data was carried out as a form of concern for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemenlu RI) and the Indonesian Consulate General in Hong Kong for Indonesian citizens, including migrant workers. The request for Indonesian citizens to register themselves is intended so that the data is in accordance with the latest conditions, including the location of work and residence.

"So the Indonesian Consulate General can help more quickly and accurately if there are problems with Indonesian migrant workers," said the staff operator for the hotline number.

Even though it has gone viral, the announcement issued by the Indonesian Consulate General regarding updating this data is not yet known to all Indonesian migrant workers in Hong Kong. One of them, Maxima, a migrant worker from East Java.

"I don't know this announcement yet," said the woman who has worked for eight years in the Land of Concrete.

Maxima is of the opinion that it is important to update the data that is being carried out by the Indonesian Consulate General in Hong Kong. "This is very important for the protection of Indonesian migrant workers. I want to register myself, I just don't know when, "he said.

He hopes that the protection of Indonesian migrant workers will be prioritized. He admitted that sometimes he hears that there are migrant workers who feel neglected, because they do not get the help they need when facing cases in the form of rights that are not fulfilled by their employers. Maxima suspects, this happened because of inaccurate data. [Report: Nurhalimah / DDHK News]
