Peace, mercy and blessings of God

Mr. Ustadz, I want to ask about the plural taqdim and plural ta'khir prayers. How to do the prayer?

Thank you, Ustadz.

Greetings, Fulanah

ANSWER:

ليكم السلام الله ات

Bismillah… Plural prayer is combining two fardlu prayers at one time. The plural prayer applies to the noon prayer with Asr, and Maghrib prayer with Isha. There are two plural prayers:

First, plural taqdim. In the plural language is to combine and taqdim is to advance. This means combining the dhuhur prayer with the asr prayer at the dhuhur time or combining the maghrib prayer with the isha prayer at the maghrib time.

Second, plural ta'khir. In the plural language is to combine and ta'khir is to end. This means combining the dhuhur prayer with the asr prayer at the time of asr or combining the maghrib prayer with the isha prayer at the isha time.

There are four ways to pray plural taqdim, namely:

  1. Orderly, namely prioritizing prayers that are earlier in time, such as prioritizing the noon prayer over the Asr prayer, or prioritizing the Maghrib prayer over the Isha prayer.
  2. Plural intentions in the first prayer, meaning that someone who wants to pray plural, it is obligatory for him to have multiple intentions at the time of the first prayer. For example, there are people who want the plural of dhuhur asr, then when he prays dhuhur he must intend to be plural with asr. The best time of intention is during takbiratul ihram. But the time of plural intention extends from takbiratul ihram to greetings.
  3. Muwalah, that is, between the first prayer and the second prayer, there is not a long time apart according to 'urf (which people usually know is the old measure here). So it's better if you finish the first prayer to get up immediately to continue the second prayer.
  4. When doing the second prayer, he was still traveling.

As for the plural of ta'khir, there are two ways to do it:

  1. Intention to plural ta'khir at the time of the first prayer
  2. Doing the second prayer is still in a state of travel as described above.

Hope it works!

Wallâhu a'lam bish-showâb.

Peace, mercy and blessings of God
