I work gold shop. Well, this is what I get that makes me upset, I keep thinking about it.
The problem is, someone buys gold. I had an excess of IDR 77.500, but the cashier said I only got IDR 27.500 back.
Initially the problem, the buyer wants to exchange rings. One ring was sold to buy a ring with a new motif. I have already counted the money, in essence the buyer must receive a change of IDR 77.500.
Since my cashier doesn't want to be seen as wrong, bitchy, very fierce, and his friends also fully support him, I can't do anything, Ustadz. I had to say, "Sorry, my fault then,".
Then, I give the change (with the amount of the cashier's version) to the customer earlier. He leaves.
What should I do, Ustadz? Meanwhile, if I convey it to the head of the shop, they never pay attention. And, I think, my friends at the shop were in cahoots with him too.
Please Ustadz, my question is answered. I'm so confused what to do.

Work is worth worship, because with it we earn a living to be able to support our family. Moreover, for a father as the head of the household.
It was narrated from Abu Hurairah radliyallãhu 'anhu, he said, “While we (the friends) were sitting beside Rasulullah SAW, suddenly a young man came out of the hill road. When we looked at him, we said, "If only this young man used his strength and youth for jihad in the way of Allah!"
Hearing the words of the companions, Rasulullah shallallãhu 'alaihi wasallam said:
وَمَا سَبِيلُ اللَّهِ إِلا مَنْ قُتِلَ؟ Amen فَفِي سَبِيلِ الطَّاغُوتِ. (رواه الطبراني)
"Isn't jihad in the way of Allah only those who are killed (in war)? Who works to support his parents, then he is in the way of Allah, who works to support his family then he is in the way of Allah, but who works for luxury (increasing wealth) then he is on the path of thaghut." (Reported by Thabrani)
Look for a lawful job and a good work environment
Work is not just about making money. As mentioned above, work is worship. If a worship (work) is not able to make us calm and closer to Allah Subhanãhu wa Ta'ala, it means there is something wrong with our work.
It's true that there are workplaces that lack or don't even support us to be better. Therefore, a believer should look for a job that can support him to become a more Islamic person.
Your efforts to be honest with customers by giving money back to them is a noble deed. However, if you can't convince your co-workers and boss in this matter, or they are even indifferent, and similar incidents are repeated like this, then it would be good for you to resign (quit, leave) from your workplace.
Because, a bad environment is not enough to form a good character. Sometimes, we will be affected if we are not able to control the situation.
We hope that you will get a better job and support good values, so that you can become a person closer to Allah Subhanãhu wa Ta'ala.
