The Virtue of Nuzulul Quran Night and Its History

DDHK. ORG – Nuzulul Quran or the time of its descent Alquran namely on the 17th of Ramadan or tonight. This is also what makes Ramadan a special month apart from being a month full of forgiveness and multiplied rewards and forgiven sins.

Reporting from Seconds, the night of Nuzulul Quran is an event where the Muslim holy book, Al-Quran, revealed to the Prophet Muhammad SAW through the Angel Gabriel in the Cave of Hira. According to Al-Quran, this event occurred on the 17th of Ramadan 610 AD.

In Ramadhan 2023, the night of Nuzulul Qur'an falls on Saturday, April 8 2023. Nuzulul Quran is the event of the descent Al-Quran from a high place (Lauful Mahfuz) to the earth. the descent Al-Quran This is mediated by the Archangel Gabriel.

That day, 17 Ramadan 610 AD, the 40-year-old Prophet Muhammad SAW was alone at Hira Cave. Suddenly a strange and large figure approached him. This figure is the Archangel Gabriel.

Rasulullah SAW's body shook with shock and fear with the presence of the Angel Gabriel. The angel Gabriel hugged the shaking Prophet and then said the word "Iqra!" three times. The word "iqra" means "read".

Rasulullah who was afraid replied "I do not know the reading,". Then, the Angel Gabriel continued his words with verses Al-Alaq 1-5.

This Al-Alaq letter is also the first revelation as well as the first letter in it Al-Quran which was conveyed to Rasulullah SAW. Al-Quran then descended to earth gradually over 22 years, 2 months, and 22 days and has become a way of life for Muslims to this day.

 

Privileges of Nuzulul Quran

The features of Nuzulul Quran can be seen as follows:

  1. Better than the Night of 1.000 Moons

The night of Nuzulul Quran is said to be better than the nights for a thousand months. That is, doing deeds or worshiping on the night of Nuzulul Quran is better than worshiping for a thousand nights. It is mentioned inside Al-Quran through Surah Qadr verse 3 which reads:

لَيْلَةُ الْقَدْرِ خَيْرٌ مِنْ أَلْفِ شَم

Meaning: "The night of glory is better than a thousand months,"

  1. Blessing Night

Night lowered Al-Quran to the earth, namely on the 17th of Ramadan is called a night full of blessings. This is based on the word of Allah SWT inside Al-Quran Surah Ad-Dukhan verse 3 which reads:

إِنَّا أَنْزَلْنَاهُ فِي لَيْلَةٍ مُبَارَكَةٍ ۚ إِنَّا كُنَّا مُنْذِرِينَ

Meaning: "Indeed, We sent it down on a blessed night. Verily, it is We who warn."

  1. Angels Descend to Earth

The night of Nuzulul Quran is called a special night, one of which is because angels descend to earth, including the Angel Gabriel. This is based on the word of Allah in Surah Al-Qadr verse 4 which reads:

تَنَزَّلُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ وَالرُّوحُ فِيهَا بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِمْ مِنْ كُلِّ أَمْرٍ

Meaning: "On that night the angels and the Spirit (Gabriel) descended with the permission of their Lord to arrange all affairs,"

  1. Forgiven His sins

For those who turn on the night of Nuzulul Quran, their sins will be forgiven by Allah SWT. The purpose of reviving is to perform worship or practice in the hope of His forgiveness as narrated by Bukhari.

مَنْ صَامَ رَمَضَانَ إِيمَانًا وَاحْتِسَابًا غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ وَمَنْ قَامَ لَيْلَْ يمَانًا وَاحْتِسَابًا غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِه

Meaning: "Whoever prays on the night of Lailatul Qadar out of faith and hoping for a reward from Allah, then his past sins will be forgiven," (Bukhari).

  1. Annual Fate is Recorded

Another specialty of the Nuzulul Quran night is that our annual destiny is recorded. Destiny in question includes sustenance, profit, death, and so forth. By increasing the practice and worship on the night of Nuzulul Quran, it is hoped that you will get an annual destiny full of blessings. The Word of Allah SWT in Surah Ad Dukhan verse 4 which reads,

وَلَلْآخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ لَكَ مِنَ الْأُولَىٰ

Meaning: "On (that night) explained all matters that are full of wisdom,"
