Peace, mercy and blessings of God

Ustadz, I want to ask a question.

If in Hong Kong I participate in qurbani through the Hong Kong Duafa Wallet for my parents who are at home, and during Eid al-Adha there is a distribution of sacrificial meat that comes to my house to be distributed to my parents, is the meat acceptable or should it be returned to be distributed to others? others?

Thank you, Ustadz.

Greetings, Fulanah

ANSWER:

ليكم السلام الله ات

Bismillah... Sacrifice on Eid al-Adha is the main worship and is highly recommended. Sacrifice for others where the reward is sent to the person in question is also a commendable act. Moreover, those people are our parents.

If there is someone who sacrifices, then it is permissible for him to take some of the meat of the sacrifice to eat and the other part to be given to people in need.

According to the Hanafi and Hanabilah scholars, the sacrifice takes one third for food, one third for the poor, and another third for gifts. According to the Syafi'iyah scholars, it is more important that most of it is given to the poor and that the qurban is only taken a little. As for the Malikiyah scholars, there is no definite measure of how much one eats alone, then what is given to charity, or what is given as a gift. The sacrificer has the right to decide for himself.

So in conclusion, if we sacrifice, we may take a maximum of one third of the sacrificial meat to eat. If there is a person who sacrifices in the name of his own parents while he is in a place far from him, then his parents where he lives get a share of the sacrificial meat from the person who sacrifices in that place, then it is permissible for him to accept the sacrificial meat. Since it is okay to take some of our own sacrifices, what about accepting sacrifices from others? Of course this is not prohibited.

Hope it works!
