Tennessee Muslim Community Holds Open House

DDHK News, United States - The Muslim community in the city of Chattanooga, Tennessee, held an open house to introduce Islam and true Muslims to non-Muslim neighbors.

"I want to tell you how pleased we are to have you here," said Abdul Baasit, imam of the Islamic Society of Greater Chattanooga, as reported by the Times Free Press, Sunday (8/2).

“You don't have to make an appointment to come here. We have an obligation to show what we have here and what is in our hearts. "

Imam Baasit spoke at an open house held Saturday at the Islamic Society of Greater Chattanooga Center (ISGC) which was attended by dozens of residents.

Those who attended were given a mushaf Al-Quran translation, a book containing the 50 most frequently asked questions about Islam, and cards containing illustrations of prayer procedures.

Similar events were held by other Muslim communities, including in Europe, to clear up misconceptions about Islam and Muslims. (mel /onislam.net/localhost/project/personal/ddhongkong.org/ddhongkong.org).*
