Grief Returns to Palestine: Dompet Dhuafa Ready to Help Out

GAZA - The Palestinian government reported that at least 34 people were killed in Gaza as a result of air strikes for two consecutive days at the end of last week. A total of 97 Palestinians were injured. There were no deaths on the Israeli side, as proclaimed by Tempo.co (14/11/2019).

Israel and Palestinian fighters in the Gaza Strip finally agreed to a ceasefire after two consecutive days of rockets raining down on the Gaza Strip territory. Both the Islamic Jihad and the Israeli military confirmed that the ceasefire was brokered by official Egyptian and United Nations (UN) officials.

“#Egypt and #PBB are working hard to prevent the most dangerous escalation in and around #Gaza that could lead to #war. The times and days to come will be critical. ALL must show maximum control and carry out their duty to prevent bloodshed, "wrote Nickolay Mladenov, the UN envoy for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in his twitter account as quoted by CNN Indonesia (15/11/2019).

Director of the Disaster Management Center (DMC) Dompet Dhuafa, Benny, said that his team had coordinated with local volunteers in the Gaza Strip. "Still coordinating (with volunteers in Palestine)," said Benny via short message (15/11/2019).
