DDHK Sends Gifts to Indonesian Migrant Workers Who Are Quarantining in Hong Kong

DDHK.ORG - Dompet Dhuafa Hong Kong (DDHK), on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, sent parcels to Indonesian migrant workers who are undergoing a 21-day quarantine period in several hotels in Hong Kong. The parcels contained snacks, honey, fruit, personal necessities, telephone cards, and Indonesian dishes in the form of ready-to-eat rice complete with satay side dishes.

"In total, the day after tomorrow we sent 16 parcel packages to 4 quarantine hotels," said General Manager of DDHK, M. Imam Baihaqi, Friday (21/1/2022).

A total of 3 parcels were delivered to the Rambler Garden hotel, Tsing Yi; 7 packages to the Regala Skycity hotel, Chek Lap Kok; 5 parcel packages to the Courtyard By Marriott hotel, Sha Tin; and 1 package to Cosmo hotel, Wan Chai. A few days earlier, DDHK also sent 2 parcels to the Rambler Garden hotel.

Imam Baihaqi as the leader of DDHK was directly involved in this social action, together with members of the Volunteer Team, also sent the parcels. “So sometimes they find it difficult to meet personal or personal needs, which are not provided or available but are limited from hotels, such as Indonesian food, sanitary napkins, nail clippers, fruit, lotion, and laundry soap. Our goal is to send these gifts, to fulfill some of their needs, to provide additional enthusiasm, and also as a means of DDHK's relationship with newcomers," he said.

Welcome letter

Imam Baihaqi also included the parcel with a welcome letter to Hong Kong for Indonesian migrant workers who are being quarantined. The following is the contents of the letter:

“To those who are undergoing quarantine in Hong Kong. Assalamualaikum.

We welcome our friends who have just arrived in Hong Kong and are currently undergoing a long quarantine. Hopefully all the processes and stages run smoothly and without any significant obstacles. We pray that our friends stay healthy and can come out of quarantine in good condition.

As a welcome greeting, we gave simple gifts as a sign that in our country we must help and care for one another, especially with our countrymen and countrymen. Hopefully this gift can be useful and increase the enthusiasm of friends to start working activities in Hong Kong.

This is the contents of one of the parcels sent by DDHK to PMI who are currently in quarantine.

We are Dompet Dhuafa, which is a socio-religious institution in Hong Kong that has been actively providing assistance programs to migrant workers since 2005.

Apart from providing social assistance, we also provide skills training such as Sewing, English, and Computer. For religious activities, we actively provide spiritual showers both in person and online. For those who want to learn to read the Koran, we also provide classes to learn to read the Koran from scratch.

Greetings from us, Imam Baihaqi, Manager Dompet Dhuafa Hong Kong. "

Warm welcome
