DDHK.ORG - Dompet Dhuafa Hong Kong (DDHK), Tuesday (27/4/2021), distributed humanitarian donations of IDR 22.260.000 received from donors in Hong Kong for earthquake survivors in Malang, East Java. Fund distribution is conveyed through Dompet Dhuafa East Java to be distributed by the team Disaster Management Center (RCD) Dompet Dhuafa to earthquake survivors.
"We hope that this donation can support various programs carried out by fellow administrators and volunteers Dompet Dhuafa East Java to help the victims in the evacuation sites, ”said General Manager of DDHK, M. Imam Baihaqi.
As is well known, DMC Dompet Dhuafa with volunteers who are members of the Dompet Dhuafa East Java Volunteer (DDV Jatim) established Ramadhan Kitchen at the earthquake refugee camp. Since the earthquake rocked Malang and its surroundings on April 10, 2021, DMC Dompet Dhuafa and DDV East Java has established a Posko to distribute aid to survivors.
A series of programs have been implemented. Among them, the establishment of the Ramadan Kitchen. This program is a strategy to restore the spirits of the survivors. Even though the condition is affected by the disaster and so that the sadness doesn't drag on, survivors need to be encouraged to do productive activities.
DMC Dompet Dhuafa also provides Psychological First Aid services for child survivors of the Malang earthquake. "Alhamdulillah, Mas, with the games that involve the children here, I am very grateful. It's good to see they can cheer up. Even though they sleep in unusual conditions, they can still enjoy. Hopefully these games can alleviate their sadness, ”said Sholeh, a village head in Wirotaman Ampel Gading sub-district.
Another program that the DMC does Dompet Dhuafa is very clean. Namely, the activity of cleaning debris from the earthquake impacted material. The targets of this program are residents' houses and public facilities such as mosques.
DMC Dompet Dhuafa also carry out the Food Gift program. Namely, the provision of foodstuffs in the form of basic necessities for the survivors. For survivors whose houses were badly damaged, they could no longer work. Not only did they stand idle, they were also involved in helping clean up the debris of the damaged buildings. The basic needs of the survivors are essential to fulfill their primary needs as ordinary people.
DMC Dompet Dhuafa also distributed tarpaulins to survivors. Because, they no longer dare to sleep in the house. They choose to sleep in front of their house. Uniquely, the survivors were also reluctant to stay at the main post. They chose to stay in front of their homes. Tarps are very useful for making emergency rest areas.
