DD West Java Sent Volunteers to the Landslide Disaster Site in Sumedang

DDHK.ORG - Dompet Dhuafa West Java (DD West Java) sent humanitarian volunteers to the landslide disaster location in Bojong Kondang Village, Sawah Dadap Village, Cimanggung District, Sumedang Regency. Based on the disaster response report made by DD West Java on Sunday (12/1/2021), the natural disaster occurred due to pouring rain with heavy intensity that was evenly distributed in almost all regions of West Java on Saturday (9/1/2021).

"In the Cimanggung District Area, there are many hills that are prone to landslides, due to the unstable soil that does not hold much water, so that landslides have occurred in Kampung Bojongkondang, at an estimated time of 14.45:12 WIB. It is estimated that there are XNUMX people buried, ”wrote Resda, DD Jabar's contact officer in his report.

In the evening, it is estimated that at 20.00:15 p.m. WIB, a further landslide occurred which resulted in an increase in the number of injured and death victims. It was recorded that 24 people were injured and XNUMX people were reported missing.

West Java DD's Response Team also made several efforts. Among them, alerting an ambulance, opening a Warm Post that provides warm drinks and snacks in the form of boiled sweet potatoes and bananas. DD Jabar also opened a Public Kitchen for disaster survivors and volunteers, search for missing victims, evacuation and delivery of bodies that have been found to the family, and providing health facilities.

For this humanitarian action in Sumedang, DD Jabar deployed seven personnel. DD Jabar also fielded various equipment needed, including four units of four-wheeled and two-wheeled vehicles. [DDHK News]
