THE GOVERNMENT of Hong Kong, on Saturday (18/7/2020), announced regulations on documents that must be owned by travelers or tourists who come from countries that are considered high risk places for the corona virus. Indonesia, is one of them.
This policy was taken, to reduce the number of imported Covid-19 cases. Because, the development of the corona outbreak in Hong Kong is in a severe status. “A traveler who, on the day they board a civil aviation plane arriving in or about to arrive in Hong Kong, or during the 14 days prior to that day, has lived in Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines and South Africa must provide documents. which indicates that they have tested negative for COVID-19 and their room reservation is at a hotel in Hong Kong, "the Government of Hong Kong announced via its official website, news.gov.hk.
The airline must submit data to the Ministry of Health, before the plane arrives in Hong Kong, that the airline passengers actually have the 2 required documents. This rule comes into force on 25 July 2020.
Hong Kong will impose severe penalties on airline operators that do not comply with these conditions. Namely, subject to a fine of HK $ 50,000 and imprisonment for 6 months.
"Operators who fail to comply with the requirements to provide information, or knowingly or recklessly provide false or misleading information, may also be subject to a $ 50.000 fine and six months' imprisonment," wrote news.gov.hk.
Meanwhile, any traveler who comes to Hong Kong and fails to comply with the requirements to provide the information referred to, will be subject to a fine of HK $ 10,000 and imprisonment for 6 months. (DDHKNews)
