In many areas, these joint demonstrations carried out by workers, students and students led to riots and clashes between the masses and the security forces.

In Surabaya, East Java, detikcom reported that the police post in front of Tunjungan Plaza was burned by the masses. A Jatanras car with the sticker "Team Jogo Suroboyo" belonging to the East Java Regional Police was overthrown by the masses. Riots also occurred at the demonstration point, which is in front of the Grahadi State Building, Surabaya. To repulse the crowd, the police fired tear gas.

In Yogyakarta, a two-story cafe located near the DPRD Building for the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) on Jalan Malioboro, according to the Head of Public Relations of the Yogyakarta Regional Police, Kombes Yulianto, was set on fire by the masses.
