US hits 50 tornadoes, kills more than 100

CNN Indonesia, last Monday, December 13, 2021, reported that as many as 50 deadly tornadoes hit several US states since last Friday. According to the US Hurricane Prediction Center, the states include Arkansas, Illinois, Indiada, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, Ohio, and Tennessee,

As a result of the brunt of the tornado, it is estimated that more than 100 people died. In Kentucky alone, there were 100 deaths recorded. That number, according to US authorities, would be much higher if it were added to the death toll from other states.

Dozens of deadly tornadoes destroyed almost all buildings in its path. Including, a candle factory, a fire department, to a police station in Kentucky.

A nursing home in Missouri and an Amazon warehouse in Illinois were also devastated by this unusual tornado. So far, at least six Amazon warehouse workers have died as a result of this tornado.

Quoted by Reuters, dozens of tornadoes are called the deadliest in the history of the state.

As a result of this disaster, President Joe Biden declared a state of emergency for Kentucky. This declaration authorizes the Ministry of Homeland Security and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to coordinate all disaster management efforts. [DDHKNews]
