These are the requirements for domestic workers from Indonesia to return to work in Hong Kong

DDHK.ORG - Department of Manpower Hong Kong, Friday (6/8/2021), stated that foreign domestic workers (PRT) currently in the Philippines and Indonesia have been able to return to Hong Kong to work. The condition is that they have been fully vaccinated in Hong Kong before they leave Hong Kong.

"They can start working in the city from August 9," the Hong Kong government said on its official website.

Earlier this week the Government announced that foreign tourists entering Hong Kong would be subject to new border control measures that also apply to domestic workers arriving from the Philippines and Indonesia. The Hong Kong Department of Labor explained that if domestic workers had been fully vaccinated in Hong Kong previously, they would be allowed to board flights to Hong Kong under the new measures.

“They must comply with the new requirements which include showing evidence of a negative Covid-19 nucleic acid test prior to boarding which is done within 72 hours prior to the scheduled departure time. They also need to show confirmation of booking a room at a designated quarantine hotel for not less than 21 nights, starting from the day of their arrival,” the Hong Kong government wrote.

The department also reminded employers and employment agencies to make arrangements for their helpers before flights to Hong Kong. "Foreign domestic workers who fail to meet any of the relevant requirements may not be allowed to board flights to Hong Kong or may be denied entry upon arrival," a spokesman for the Hong Kong Ministry of Labor said.

Regarding foreign domestic workers who do not have a recognized vaccination record, the Hong Kong Government is discussing with the representative office of the foreign domestic helper country. Including, with the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia (KJRI) Hong Kong, to determine how to verify the authenticity of the vaccination records of these domestic workers.

"This will allow domestic workers who are vaccinated in their home countries to work in Hong Kong," said a spokesperson for the Department.

The government also plans to arrange for domestic workers who come to be quarantined centrally in one to two hotels. Details are being discussed and an announcement will be made once arrangements are confirmed. [Source: news.gov.hk] [DDHKNews]
