Tram or tram is a train that has special rails in the city. The tram, which takes 5-10 minutes to depart, can be a solution to traffic jams.

The tram series is generally a set (consisting of two trains) so that it is not too long. It is called Light Rail because it uses a light train of about 20 tons like a bus, not as heavy as a 40 ton train. The layout of the rails blends in with city traffic, or is separated like a bus-way, it can even be elevated or a sub-way, only for a portion of the track.

Trams are usually lighter and shorter than regular trains and rapid transit. Today, most trams are electric, usually powered by a pantograph running on overhead electricity; older systems may use a trolley pole or bow collector.

In some cases, a contact shoe on the third rail is used. If necessary, they may have dual power systems—electric in city streets and diesel in rural settings. [DDHK News]
