The first batch of Indonesian Hajj pilgrims flies to Saudi June 4

DDHK.ORG - The Indonesian Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) said that the first batch of hajj pilgrims will leave for Saudi Arabia on June 4. This first batch of departures will end on June 18, 2022. However, pilgrims are required to enter the Hajj hostel on June 3, 2022.

The Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) said there were a total of five embarkations of Hajj pilgrims who will be the first batch to depart for Saudi Arabia on June 4. On May 29, 2022, the Director of Domestic Hajj Services at the Ministry of Religion, Saiful Mujab, explained that the five embarkations were Solo, Jakarta-Pondok Gede, Jakarta-Bekasi, Surabaya, and Padang.

This is the first Hajj departure for Indonesian pilgrims to Saudi Arabia after 2 years of absence due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Upon arrival at the Saudi airport, in addition to travel documents, prospective pilgrims will also be asked to show documents related to the Covid-19 response to the royal state officials.

Citing the release of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia, pilgrims must receive the main Covid-19 vaccination which has been approved by the Saudi Ministry of Health. However, the pilgrimage is only open to visitors under 65 years of age. As reported by the Ministry of Health of Saudi Arabia, several vaccines recognized by the kingdom are Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca, Janssen, Sinopharm, Sinovac, Cova Xin, Sputnik V, and Covovax.
