Ramadan is full of stories

This year's Ramadan will be one of the unforgettable Ramadan. Good for institutions Dompet Dhuafa Hong Kong (DDHK) and its volunteers as well as for the ustadz and ustadzah who were presented in the Dai Ambassador program. For them, this year's Ramadan has many stories with various emotions in it.

For example, the story about the process of Ustadz Sukron Makmun's departure, who failed to fly to Greece and South Korea, and finally got the mandate to serve in Hong Kong. It was only a while in the Land of Concrete that it had to be "shifted" to Macau. However, apart from meeting some old friends in Hong Kong, he also received a lot of inspiration and stories in Macau.

A different story came from Ustadz Rendi Tanjung. His first assignment was to fill tausiyah at Tai Po, on the overpass. Perhaps, for this dai who used to meet lecture calls among Indonesian artists and celebrities, giving a "slumping" lecture on plastics and banners, on a pedestrian bridge too, was his first experience. After returning from there, his waist immediately hurt badly, it took several days to heal.

Shocking Phone Calls

There is another story from Ustadzah Maryanti. In his notes on the 13th day of Ramadan, he wrote the following stories.

"Alhamdulillah, for the blessings that Allah has given today. Approaching half of Ramadan, Allah still provides health and fluency for preaching in Hong Kong.

Today I had the task of filling out studies at the JRQ Council in Yuen Long. Even though I have been there four times, I am still confused about getting on the bus. After 15 minutes of looking around, Alhamdulillah I finally found him (happy…).

While waiting for my destination, I took the time to recite Al-Quran. Alhamdulillah, I got one juz, while enjoying the incredibly beautiful view. No, I felt it after almost 1,5 hours, I arrived at Yuen Long. At the terminal, a delegation from the majelis taklim was already picking up.

When they arrived at the place, there was a feeling of emotion because they saw those who were so enthusiastic in studying knowledge, even though they were limited: In the holidays they should have used for resting, they were actually used to recite the Koran in an unusual place, namely on the market edge of the field, with the weather scorching heat. However, it did not reduce their enthusiasm and concentration to listen to studies.

Even though the congregation was only four people, I was still proud and happy to be able to share knowledge with them. There are some of them who talk about their husbands, children, or families. To me, they are great people who are willing to go out of their way: 'a rib that turns into a backbone'. O Allah, take care of them.

After finishing the study, I left home. In the middle of the trip, suddenly there was a phone call from the village telling me that my father had passed away. O Allah, disbelief, sadness, and confusion are one thing.

Suddenly, I remembered the memory of the past: Father was so persistent in earning a living, selling vegetable ketupat, leaving at midnight, only coming home in the morning for one wish: so that his children could go to school. Not felt, tears just came out, when remembering before leaving for preaching to Hong Kong the father expressed pride and joy.

O Allah, I love you, just as you love your children. Servant sincerely. Hopefully the missionary journey here will be the kindness that flows for Mr. Hartono bin Marmo. O Allah, forgive his sins, accept his acts of worship, and place him in the raudhah min riyadhil jannah. Aamiin. "

As Ustadz Sukron Makmun said, "Dai must be mentally, physically and financially prepared." Hopefully, the stories about DDHK's Dai Ambassadors for this Ramadan, which contain their struggles and sacrifices, will be written in the charity notebook which they will receive with their right hand in the afterlife.
