DDHK. ORG – Pilgrimage has mandatory requirements that must be met. This is to ensure that someone is exposed to the obligation of Hajj. These conditions also determine whether or not a person enters the pilgrimage obligation.

From various descriptions Alquran and hadith, scholars mention at least seven obligatory conditions for the pilgrimage. People who fulfill these conditions are subject to the obligation of pilgrimage. As for seven mandatory requirement pilgrimage is as in the books of fiqh as follows:

Trust us, thank you

Meaning: "There are seven obligatory conditions for Hajj, namely Islam, puberty, reason, independence, having a vehicle and supplies, safety on the road, and conditions enabling the pilgrimage," (Taqrib on Kifayatul Akhyar, [Beirut, Darul Pole Al-Ilmiyah: 2001 M/1422 H], page 177

In general, the conditions for the obligatory hanji are Islam, puberty, reason, independence, and ability.

Menurut the Hanafi madhhab and Maliki, this ability has three components, namely body or physical strength, ability to treasure and security on the way to the holy land.

In addition, the Shafi'i school of thought determines the criteria for ability which includes seven components, namely physical strength, ability to own assets, availability of means of transportation, availability of basic needs to be consumed while in the holy land, travel and safety in the holy land.

Meanwhile, the Hambali school of thought only states two criteria, namely the ability to have wealth and safety in its journey. The Hambali school refers to the hadith of the Prophet SAW, as follows:

Meaning: "From Jabir, that Abdullah said: The Prophet. Have you ever been asked what is meant by sabil? The Prophet answered provisions and vehicles. (HR Daruquthni)
