Toronto Muslims Discuss Friday Sermon Strategy
DDHK News, Canada - A number of Muslim leaders in Toronto, Canada, attended a seminar on Friday sermons and efforts to cultivate Muslim love for mosques.
"This seminar is an opportunity for friendship and discussion among priests (clerics), scholars and preachers on Friday to respond to rapid changes in North America and the world," said the Chair of the Canadian Center for Religious Studies, Dr. Hamid Slimi.
"Today's seminar will discuss sermon techniques and lecture material preparation as well as methods of cultivating a positive impact on the congregation."
The seminar entitled "Islamic Da'wah in the North American Context" was organized by the Canadian Center for Deen Studies.
Muslims are the fastest growing community in Canada, according to official Canadian statistics, at around 82% in the last 10 years, from 579,000 in 2001 to more than 1 million in 2011.
