The Rescue Team of DMC Follows the Landslide from the Impact of the Lebak Flash Flood

LEBAK, BANTEN - After combing the Ciberang river area, the Rescue Disaster Management Center (DMC) Team Dompet Dhuafa continued his mission to Cigobang Village, Banjarsari Village, Lebakgedong District, on Saturday (4/1/2020). However, many access roads were cut off, buried and even damaged by landslides there.

"It cannot be passed by motorized vehicles at all. We decided to continue walking up (the hill) on foot, ”explained Ade, Coordinator of the Lebak DMC Banjir Bandang Evacuation Team.

Exploring the Cikontrak Hill area, the team climbed 15 kilometers on foot. It takes 3 hours, from 10.00-13.00 WIB. Take a steep and steep path. It rained several times so that it made the path very slippery and muddy.

"The terrain is difficult, entering the forest path. The mud is knee-deep. The rain fell to make us more alert to the subsequent landslides that occurred while climbing, "admits Ade.

Between trips, the Rescue Team carried out sudden evacuations of survivors who were about to leave the location to move to a new shelter. Then the team decided to help mobilize residents, especially the elderly and children, because the road access was blocked by landslides.

Ade said again, “This hill is actually a red zone. There are more worries about landslides if the intensity of rain still occurs frequently ”.

There is a temporary refuge on the hill Cikontrak, 220 Cigobang residents. Hadi, Head of RW Cigobang, said that some of the residents were still staying because their houses were not affected. There are also some residents who have moved to other refugee camps, including to Pos Dompet Dhuafa at Ponpes Darul Mustofa Cipanas, Banten.

Currently, the number of refugees is at the Darul Mustofa Post Dompet Dhuafa as many as 556 people. The logistical assistance of the donors is also continuing. The Public Kitchen provides 1.300 portions of food plus 400 portions of food donations. In addition, the Health Service Action from the LKC Medical Team (Free Health Services) Dompet Dhuafa participate in managing public health complaints.
