Order of the Prophet's Hajj on his Ummah

(Serious study before the 2023 Hajj season)

DDHK. ORG – There is a lot of information about order pilgrimage from the Prophet to his people. In the book of Interpretation of Al Azhar, Prof. Abdul Malik Karim Amrullah (Hamka) said, this worship was prescribed to the Prophet Muhammad in the ninth year of the Hijriyah.

According to Jumhur (most of) scholars sharia Hajj is made the official shariah of the Prophet Muhammad SAW is in the ninth year.

In that year the Muslims in Medina and throughout Arabia pilgrimage to Makkah who was clean of idols, and was appointed by Rasulullah SAW his best friend Abu Bakr to head the group (Amirul-Haj) that year.

In the tenth year, the Prophet himself went on a pilgrimage, which is famous for the wada' pilgrimage (farewell pilgrimage).

Another opinion states that the official recognition of the Hajj sharia as Muhammad SAW's sharia to his people is in the fourth year. As stated in Surat Ali Imran (Chapter 3, verse 97.

"And because of Allah, it was commanded for humans to make pilgrimage to that house, whoever is able to walk to it." (Ali Imran: 97).

The Hajj must be carried out once in a lifetime by a Muslim, stated in a hadith of the Prophet SAW:

"O people, Hajj has been made obligatory upon you, so make Hajj." Then someone asked, "Is it every year, O Messenger of Allah?" He did not answer, until the person asked again three times. Only then did the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam answer, “If I say “yes”, then surely it will be obligatory every year and it is not certain that you are able to do it. Then there is no need to discuss what I did not mention to you. For verily those before you perished because they asked many questions and opposed their Prophets a lot. If I order something, do it according to your ability. If I have forbidden something for you, then leave it” (HR. Muslim no. 1337). [DDHK News]
