Sumbawa Flood, 4 Affected Villages

DDHK. ORG – Sumbawa flash floods. Rain accompanied by thunder and strong winds that flushed West Sumbawa Regency, West Nua Tenggara Province, Sunday (11/12/2022) from 15.00 to 16.30 WITA and caused 4 villages to be affected by flash floods.

Dozens of houses were heavily damaged by the tornado in Taliwang District. Reporting from Kompas.com, Head of Emergency and Logistics BPBD West Sumbawa, Amrullah confirmed Monday (12/12/2022) confirmed this incident.

"Floods occurred in Flood 4 villages, namely Meraran, Lamusung, Kertasari and Lamunga as high as an adult's knee," said Amrullah.

Residents' houses damaged by flash floods in Meraran Village, Seteluk District, which affected about 8 houses, Lamusung Village, Seteluk District, which affected about 4 houses.

Meanwhile in Lamunga Village, Taliwang District, around 5 houses were affected, and Kertasari Village, Taliwang District, around 7 houses were affected, ranging from mild to moderate damage.

Meanwhile, the strong winds of the tornado occurred in the Telaga Bertong sub-district, Taliwang District.

"As a result of the strong winds of the tornado, dozens of roofs of residents' houses were badly, moderate to mildly damaged," said Amrullah.

So far the efforts that have been made are coordinating with the village authorities, monitoring the development of disaster events. His party has provided assistance to affected residents in the form of groceries.

"The District BPBD Team. West Sumbawa has gone down to the location to conduct monitoring," said Amrullah.

Not only floods, strong winds also hit the KSB area. As a result, 5 units of residents' houses and two units of basic food shops were badly damaged in Telaga Bertong Village. The roofs of people's houses were detached and flew from the houses.
